Aquarius.NET®
- features
In this section, you can learn more about Aquarius.NET capabilities.
Data Integration
-
Aquarius.NET integrates wide range of spatial and attribute data
formats from various independent sources.
-
Integrated data are normalized, described by its schema and published
within Aquarius.NET framework as unified feature sources.
-
Aquarius.NET data integration layer allows to query feature sources
in different coordinate systems and still obtain homogenous results.
-
Aquarius.NET Data Adapter architecture is compatible
with many spatial and attribute data formats around the world and is
fully extensible and programmable.
-
See details of formats
supported by Aquarius.NET.
Analysis And Managemet
-
Aquarius.NET manages available resources into applications and workspaces. The
system uses role based security for restricting access to resources.
-
Aquarius.NET provides powerful infrastructure for analysis using unified
feature source schemas and commands. Analysis can be performed on
logical collections of objects such as feature sources, layers, maps, user
defined sets and so on.
-
Commands are used for many usefull operations such analysing, selecting,
rendering, drawing, user implemented commands etc.
-
For the complex geometric and atrribute data query, Aquarius.NET provides
XML based query language, which contains
arithmetic, boolean, comparison, logical and spatial
comparison operators.
-
The query expression could combine attribute and spatial operators and
literals.
-
Aquarius.NET allows to transform and visualize connected data in various
projections
and coordinate systems.

Presentation And Publication
-
Aquarius.NET supports a wide range of clients ranging from old
fashioned PCs on intranets to futuristic wireless mobile devices.
-
Windows user interface is designed for local windows based clients.
It offers prefabricated forms and controls.
-
Web services extends the functionality of the framework to existing third
party consumers (ArcIMS clients, MapPoint.NET clients, OpenGIS clients), or to
prefabricated Web parts.
-
Web interface consists of three main levels: Web Services, Web Parts
and Web Forms
-
Web parts are Web user interface building blocks available within Aquarius.NET
framework such as AquariusExplorer, MapView, LayerManager,
SelectionViewer etc.
-
2D drawing subsystem uses GDI+ contained in .NET framework.
-
3D drawing subsystem uses powerful DirectX technology.
